Andreas Hipp joins Cirrus Core Networks

Boca Raton 17 February 2016: Cirrus Core Networks Inc., an innovator in Network Function Virtualization (NFV) for Mobile Network Operators, has appointed Andreas Hipp to its board of directors. Hipp joins a leadership team made up of experienced telecoms entrepreneurs with a track record of developing innovative mobile technologies and disruptive business models. Cirrus Core Networks has developed an all NFV-based Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) offering for Mobile Network Operators.

“Andreas brings unique experience to our business having co-founded both a service provider and equipment vendor. He is a true believer in disruptive business models and is committed to finding new ways to support service provider businesses,” said Adam Crane, CEO of Cirrus Core Networks. “We’re extremely pleased to have Andreas on board and look forward to growing our business with his support.”

Hipp co-founded and was Group CEO of Epsilon Global Communications. He played a key role in the development of its initial business plan and led the strategic transformation of the company while also launching its network equipment subsidiary Cataleya. Before launching Epsilon, Hipp held senior sales and marketing management positions in various wholesale telecoms and manufacturing businesses including Dynegy, Storm Telecommunications and Tyco Electronics.

“I have joined Cirrus Core Networks because it offers a real opportunity to disrupt the mobile market. For example, as machine-to-machine communications (M2M) and the Internet of Things (IoT) grow, operators need a more flexible and cost efficient model. This technology enables Mobile Network Operators to scale and plan for a future that includes a range of connected devices,” says Andreas Hipp, board member at Cirrus Core Networks. “The opportunity to be part of this kind of innovation was too good to pass up.”

Cirrus Core Networks offers Mobile Network Operators a fully hosted pay-as-you-go model for its virtual Evolved Packet Core (EPC), virtual IMS with VoLTE/VoWiFi, and MANO platform. The all-IP platform has been designed to remove the need for the capex required for network hardware while enabling new scalability and flexibility. It can cost effectively support a small operator with a few hundred subscribers, a global operator addressing the mammoth projected growth of M2M/IoT, and everything in between – with simplified pricing and a virtualized approach.

“We have the technology, model and people in place to deliver an innovative and dynamic set of solutions. The addition of Andreas adds further depth to the leadership team as we deliver our solutions to operators around the world. It is an exciting time in our business and the response from the operator community has already been tremendous,” said Emin Gürdenli, Chairman of Cirrus Core Networks.
